Initially knows as "Buffalo Head" in 1905, Lafleche was named after a Roman Catholic missionary Louis Francois Richer Lafleche around 1908. In English the name translates into "the arrow" or "the spire". The hotel was built around 1913. It was then called The Lafleche Hotel and was renamed the Flying Goose Inn when Larry and Evelyn L'Heureux took over ownership on March 1st, 1996.
Lafleche is located in the prime hunting area of Canada with its' wide open spaces it truly is a hunters' paradise from mid September on through into November. For more details please visit our section on Hunting.
Surrounded by the beauty of Saskatchewan, enjoy a quality golf experience at the Thomson Lake Golf Course just 10 minutes from Lafleche. Thomson Lake also offers swimming, boating and camping in addition to golfing.
